Christopher E. LeVasseur practices in the area of commercial litigation, with a focus on labor and employment law.  Upon graduation from law school, he spent several years as clerk to the Honorable John H. Gillis of the Michigan Court of Appeals, where he assisted in drafting many of the Court’s published opinions.  Following his time with the Court of Appeals, Mr. LeVasseur worked as associate with Dykema Gossett, PLLC and as a partner with Stark Reagan, P.C., which he joined in 1988.

Experience

  • Advising and defending employers in labor/employment law compliance and litigation
  • Representing Union Pension, Welfare and Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Funds
  • General commercial litigation, including debt collection
  • Advising/representing commercial landlords in eviction proceedings
  • Litigating claims related to the enforcement of restrictive covenants, including agreements not to compete and alleged misappropriation of trade secrets
  • Developing employment policies, procedures and handbooks
  • Drafting employment-related legal documents, including non-competition and non-solicitation agreements
  • Advising employers in connection with employee conduct, discipline and termination
